夏休みが明けた２学期始業式の日、成女では防災訓練を実施しました。

９月１日の「防災の日」に関連して、今回は地震による火災を想定した避難訓練です！

生徒たちは放送の指示に従い、防災頭巾を着用し速やかに校庭へ避難しました。

校長先生から講評いただいた後は、方面別の下校訓練です。

帰宅後にはICTツールを用いた安否確認訓練を行い、もしもの災害に備えてあらためて防災意識を高めることができました。

暑かった夏休み、夏期講習からの最後は台風で終わりを告げました。

先日行われた2学期の始業式では、新しくALTの先生もお迎えいたしました♪

また表彰式では、検定の合格者が校長先生から合格証を授与していただきました！

２学期も充実した学校生活を過ごしていきましょう！！

修学旅行での学びをより深めるためには何よりも大切なのが「事前学習」です。

今回の事前学習は「平和学習」として、火垂るの墓を視聴しました。

観たことがある生徒がほとんどでしたが、真剣に視聴することいつもと違った「何か」を得ることができたようです。

中には涙を見せる生徒もいました。

平和な世界とは何なのか、平和な世界を実現するために私たちができることは何なのか。

自分なりの答えをこの修学旅行を通して見つけてほしいと思います。

高校２年生・中学生を対象として、修学旅行事前検診を実施しました！

９月に実施予定の修学旅行に向けて、生徒たち一人一人の健康をチェックします。

優しい学校医の先生に、普段なかなか聞けない健康に関する悩み・不安を相談して、万全の状態で修学旅行に臨みます！

自主研究では、芸術ゼミ・人文ゼミが合同で夏休み中の活動発表を行いました。

長期休暇を生かして、フィールドワークに出ていた生徒たちは、それぞれが校外で得た新鮮な学びをゼミメンバーに共有しました。

聴き手となる生徒たちも、メンバーが精力的に活動し、課題解決に向けて邁進している姿を見て、とても刺激を受けたようでした。

いよいよ２学期が始まろうとしています。

１年生もポスターセッションや創立記念祭での発表にむけて、走り始めました。

夏休み明けといえば始業式！もありますが、成女では「生徒会幹事選挙演説会」もある

大事な大事な一日にもなっています。

そんな生徒会演説に向けて、この日は練習を行いました。

それぞれが「こんなことを伝えたい！」「こんな印象をもってほしい」と想いも持ち、練習に励んでいました。

内容も、話し方も個性にあふれていました。

最後まで頑張りましょう！

高校２年生のビッグイベントと言えば……そうです！ 修学旅行です！

修学旅行を無事に行うために、今回はしおりの読み合わせを行いました。

担任の先生から「ここに集合だよ！」「これは絶対持ってくること！」などなど……生徒たちはたくさんメモを取りながら聞いていました。

高２の皆さん、何よりも「楽しむ心」を忘れずにね★

Tina先生のメッセージを３回にわけてご紹介します。

最終回は成女での経験についてです。
I got very lucky. I was surprised to hear that I got placed with a school in Tokyo since it’s more common to be placed in remote areas. After being here for some time, I can say that I was lucky in many other ways as well. First, I got lucky to be here at a school that prioritizes student education on an individual level. They adapt the classes to suit student needs. For example, if there is a wide gap in student English level for a class, the class will be split into an advanced class and a review class. Second, I was lucky to be at a school where the ALTs have a healthy work-life balance. I had time to pursue different interests after work and on the weekends. Finally, I was lucky to be at a school that is so open to my input and implementing different ideas that I have to make classes more effective and engaging. I would recommend the JET Programme to anyone who’s considering it.

第２回目は成女の先生との交流についてです。

I got to know many wonderful staff at Seijo who care deeply for the students. When I first came to the school, it was difficult for me to communicate with teachers since my Japanese ability was limited. 1.5 years later, after taking Japanese class and having more conversation practice, I’m happy that I can talk with teachers about different topics such as things they like and places they want to travel to. Little by little, I picked up different bits of information about the teachers at this school, learning about their likes and dislikes, as well as their hobbies and talents. It was a great work environment to be in with amazing people. They have taught me so many things about Japan and Japanese culture. I will miss all of the staff and students when I’m back home. Thank you for being with me and making this a wonderful time in my life.

第１回目は成女生の印象についてです。

At Seijo, I met many different types of students with different English abilities. Many of the students pleasantly surprised me with how much English they know, for example, the students in the Eiken interview test preparation class. I noticed that all students are very hardworking people who study hard. I hope that they can treat themselves kindly and take many breaks even during busy times. The students also inspire me in different ways and teach me about different things. For example, recently, I learned about different Japanese music artists such as King Gnu, Creep Hype, and Shina Ringo from the second-year high school class. There’s another student who enjoys to sew. Since I like creative things, I’m happy that I can connect with them in these ways. I hope that they can continue to pursue things they’re interested in. I will think back on my time with them fondly.
