文部科学省「アジアの架け橋プロジェクト」で本校に留学中のサビヤタ・ヤダワさんが9月2日から3月5日までの留学期間を終え、インドへ帰国します。
サビヤタさんは、英語や数学など多くの教科の授業に参加し、週に4時間日本語の授業を履修しました。12月にはJLPT（日本語能力検定試験）を受検して、見事に5級に合格しました。12月には全校中学生の前で、インドの文化や民族について日本語でプレゼンテーションし、多くの生徒がインドの今の姿を学ぶことができました。
また、1月に行われた中国五雅高校との交流会で堪能な英語力を生かし司会を務め、本校イングリッシュチャレンジクラスやイングリッシュアイランド部の有志生徒と共にすべて英語で交流を行いました。
この間、3組のホストファミリーに大変お世話になりました。今回コロナウイルスの影響で帰国が早まりましたが、2月29日には交流を深めたクラスの仲間たちとお世話になったイングリッシュアイランドの先生たちとお別れの会を開くことができました。サビヤタさんは3月9日にはインドに帰国します。
Ms. Sabhyata Yadava, who has been studying at our school through the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology’s “Asia KAKEHASHI Project”, will return to India after completing the study period from September 2 to March 5.
Ms. Sabhyata attended classes of many subjects such as English and Mathematics, and also had Japanese classes 4 hours a week. She took the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) in December. She successfully passed Level 5. In December, in front of all junior high school students, she gave a presentation in Japanese about Indian culture and ethnicity, and many students could learn what India is like today. Also, in January, our school had a meeting with Goga High School in China. She moderated using her fluent English conversation skills. The session was attended by volunteers from the English Challenge Class and English Island Club, all of whom spoke in English.
During this time, she was very helpful to her three host families. Because of the coronavirus, she will return to her country earlier than planned, but on February 29 we had a farewell party with English Island teachers and her fellow classmates. Ms. Sabhyata will return to India on March 9. Everybody at Yamawaki wish her good luck in the future.

私たちは、校内でサビヤタさんが頑張っている姿や笑顔を見るたびに嬉しい気持ちになり、元気をもらいました。サビヤタさんに出会えて本当に良かったです。どうもありがとう。
知り合いもいなく、言葉もわからない場所でスタートした生活では、不安なこともたくさんあったことと思います。サビヤタさんのチャレンジ精神を私たちも見習い、離れた場所ではありますが、お互いに夢に向かって頑張っていきましょう。どうぞ、お元気で！
