高校２年生から私立文系コースの生徒たちは必修で英国人による英作文の授業をとります。

その成果の集大成として、先学期は英語によるオリジナルmagazineを作成しました。

そして実質上最後の学期となる今学期は、英語でオリジナル脚本を書き上げ、それをミニ映画として仕上げることができました。

その様子を担当教員のレポートで以下にご紹介します。

H3 Composition Class – Film Making

 

The H3 Composition class should feel very proud of their achievement this term as they brought together many ideas, skills and talents to produce a film in English called “Angela”.

 

In September they began the task of writing the script.  First, the students discussed together the outline of the plot and then spent time adding further details.  All students were responsible for writing different parts of the script, which tackled the problem of bullying at school.  The scripts were re-drafted until the story had been developed fully. 

 

All students had either a part to play in the film or took responsibility for a ‘behind the scenes’ role as director, assistant director and cameraman. 

 

The filming took place at school and the students showed an imaginative use of classrooms and props. 

 

We were very impressed at how quickly students learned their lines and performed, which is not an easy task in a foreign language.  Their director spoke in English, so the students had to listen carefully during rehearsals and filming too. 

 

We hope the H3 students enjoyed this experience to work together as a group and that it will be a cherished memory of their last term at Rikkyo.
