The Rikkyo Robot Club, which was established this term visited the prestigious Royal Grammar School Guildford (RGS) to give a presentation about their masterpiece.

They visited the school on 17th November, and they gave a presentation to the teacher and students from the Design and Technology class. The occasion brought wonderful results and they have agreed to launch a co-project with Rikkyo‘ students next term.

After the presentation, they listened to a lecture by a researcher in the area of the development of robot prosthetic arms at the University of Oxford. It was such a valuable learning experience for the students and a fulfilling day.

The below is the thoughts of one of the participant students.

++++++

There was an exchange meeting between Rikkyo Robot Club and RGS the other day. We introduced our robots and how they can be used to solve social problems. We also made a video of the students’ daily life at Rikkyo. We exchanged ideas with the RGS students on how to improve the robots. The RGS has a technology class, and I was really inspired to learn that they use a different method of making robots than we do, such as using wood to make robots. We had a great time with the RGS students, not only introducing our robot club, but also exchanging opinions and working together.rrr
